packed into a small container and holding the potential for an infinite amount of growth when conditions are favourable.

Each nut can grow to be an enormous tree that bears fruit, in its turn giving birth to exponential growth as each of these seeds/ nuts carries within it the same potential for replication and multiplication. Nuts are also used as sustenance by animals, birds and humans transforming what was once the potential to be a tree into the potential to be and do almost anything in the world.

Squirrels gather nuts and store them throughout the forest in caches that can be accessed at other times of the year, ensuring year long and long-term survival and well being. Squirrels often gather far more than they themselves need and these extra caches serve as a gift to the wider forest community. Hungry mice, birds and other woodland creatures find these caches of food, ensuring their survival into the next season. Keeping the forest community well fed ensures a healthy balance for everyone as each creature sustains the others in one way or another due to the interconnected nature of life.

Squirrels also act in service to the general health of the forest by storing caches of seeds and nuts that are never eaten by themselves or others. Instead these serve as assurance that the forest will flourish once again after times of fire or other transformative acts. These seeds sprout in the newly opened ground and the forest begins again its journey of growth. The work of squirrels is one of sharing, laying foundations and ensuring a healthy, abundant future for themselves and those around them.

This is the very vision we have for our business wherein we are gathering nuts, storing them where we can access them, where others can access them and where they can be encouraged to flourish and grow in any conditions.

In our business structure we have built in these ideals and realities. We are committed to contributing to each other’s lives by sharing resources, reminding each other to stay healthy, sharing a social network of support and contributing to our wider community. We are ensuring the health of our “forest community” by investing a large portion of our profits into buying local farmland, placing it in trust and farming it organically to the highest standards. This food will be grown, processed and distributed locally ensuring the area remains sustainable.

On a wider scale we are recreating our model of sustainable business and community support in a series of books that will inspire others to change the way in which they engage with themselves, their community, their lives and the business world. “We are the ones we have been waiting for” and it is time to move forward as “the change we wish to see.”
