Smart Nuts Technology began with the idea of a shared business model as envisioned by Andrea Scholz and other members of the Smart Nuts Technology founding team.
Andrea's more than twenty years of experience as a business owner has given her in-depth knowledge of current business structures and their benefits and downfalls. To this end, the Smart Nuts Technology team began to explore alternate business ownership models that served the investor, the founders, the employees, and the community. From this exploration, Smart Nuts Technology created a new model in which everybody wins, business remains responsible and accountable, and social responsibility is inherent in all business decisions.
Ownership model
Ownership of Smart Nuts Technology went not only to the financial investor and company founders but was also awarded to the people who believed in, and remained committed to the development of our products and services from the start. Employees worked for reduced wages plus a percentage of ownership or as a complete trade for ownership and worked extended hours as everyone pulled together to create this amazing company. Each person is valued for their unique skills and views and everyone is given decision- making capabilities that allow their department to move forward rapidly. While Andrea remains the primary owner and manager of Smart Nut Technology, it was her inclusion and acknowledgement of the effort of the entire team that has led to the enormous success of Smart Nuts Technology.
Our Commitment
Smart Nuts Technology is owned and managed by a group of people who are committed to the idea of "Think Global, Act Local" and our profit sharing model is another example of how businesses can be responsible, contributing members of the local community. Smart Nuts Technology employs local residents at fair wages with the opportunity to share in the quarterly profits through our "good standing' percentage, a set amount of quarterly profit that is awarded to all employees based upon number of hours worked, measurable performance, and contribution to the development of the company. Further, Smart Nuts Technology has set aside a portion of the quarterly profits to be donated to local food security groups working towards sustainability and re-localization efforts. Smart Nuts Technology believes that communities are interdependent with all sectors relying upon the others to survive and thrive. Business owners have a responsibility to ensure the well being of the entire community through responsible leadership, local employment, community support efforts, event and non-profit sponsorship, and innovative business practices that benefit everyone.
